Emmy Award nominated television docuseries START UP returns for 8th season - WXYZ

DETROIT (WXYZ) — START UP is an Emmy Award nominated television docuseries highlighting the struggles and victories of entrepreneurs across the United States. It also provides an up-close and personal look into today’s small business stories.

In Season 8, which began airing October 18, creator and host Gary Bredow sits down with a wide range of diverse business owners to better understand how they’ve learned to adapt, innovate and even completely reinvent themselves amidst the chaos and uncertainty of 2020. Among the companies featured this season is Will Power Fitness Gym. Owner, William McCray, Will Power Fitness Gym, a business focused on helping people discover their true reason for wanting to make a serious health change in their life. During Michigan’s recent order closing all gyms, McCray focused his energy on virtual training. He was able to retain a high percentage of his clientele online and positioned his business for a profitable future.

Another episode features Saint Clair Shores-based fishing charter, Yakovich Outdoors, a father and son team that shares stories about being ordered to close prior to their first charter season.
