Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Advocacy Region II Advocate Christine Myers and National Rural Advocate Joe Knilans will join small business owners from Western New York for roundtable discussions in Chautauqua, Erie, Monroe and Niagara counties from Tuesday through Thursday. The SBA Office of Advocacy is the independent voice for the small business community inside the federal government that works to ensure rules and regulations do not unfairly burden small entities employing 500 or fewer workers.

The forums hosted by the Office of Advocacy are part of their ongoing efforts to support and engage with entrepreneurs and small business owners. They allow small businesses to share and voice their opinions and concerns on federal regulations.

"The Office of Advocacy advances the concerns of small businesses directly to the regulatory agencies, Congress and the White House. The Office also compiles research, which examines the role of small business in the economy and the impact of government regulation on small business," Myers said. "Holding these local forums with small business owners is a critical component in our efforts to help lessen the heavy regulatory burden on small business."

A rural small business forum will be held at the Small Business Development Center at Jamestown Community College from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday

For location and reservation, e-mail Victoria Reynolds, SBA Buffalo District, deputy district director at Victoria.Reynolds@sba.gov.
